A large number of clients begin their Trade Show Display journey with our low cost Waveline Display units.

The exhibit is an affordable solution that is very portable and reliable.

But, it is by no means a “budget image” for your company.

Rather, the display, as with any exhibit materials, is what you make it.

You can spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a new display but not get the results you were hoping for if the design is not executed properly.

Therefore, you must be sure to use this marketing opportunity to the utmost.

Illusion in Design

Optical Illusion on trade show display graphic design.

In this simple example we present a single 10ft curved Waveline.

The client had an idea to provide photographic examples of the various materials involved in their business while coupling that with bullet points.

From the start that sounds like most display concepts.

The challenge is from a design standpoint to turn this into something that will catch the eye, rather than end up looking like an 8th grade science fair display.

Luckily, the client had already prepared a basic mock up of their concept.

As soon as we saw the concept, we knew what design would work best.

Using the Hermann grid illusion we separate each element of the photo/text area to create something that has a “movement” illusion.

Everything is organized evenly to balance the overall graphic design while benefiting from the “flashing dot” effect.

The result is a display that will communicate the company message while taking advantage of the neural process called lateral inhibition.

Look at the display  photo (click for larger image) and you will notice that dots appear to flash where the lower rounded boxes intersect.

So, a basic 10ft display that costs about $1000 has a design element that is unique and exciting to the eye!

A little extra spent on Graphic Design is well worth the investment for an effective display. If you would like to discuss a concept for your next design give us a call!
